Abbottstown, PA (September 13, 2025) – A classic Lincoln Speedway showdown unfolded on Saturday night as Troy Wagaman and Freddie Rahmer went wheel-to-wheel in the closing laps of the $10,000-to-win 33-lap Weldon Sterner Memorial feature. Wagaman used lapped traffic to close the gap and slipped by Rahmer on lap 27, holding off a counterattack to add another big win to his growing resume.
Rahmer had taken control early, powering past pole-sitter Dylan Norris out of turn 2 on the opening lap. Norris kept Rahmer in his sights, running second with Wagaman in third, Cameron Smith in fourth, and Chase Dietz in fifth. The top five stayed tight as the laps clicked off, with Rahmer unable to build a commanding lead.
Lapped traffic entered the picture by lap 10, and Danny Dietrich began his charge to the front, moving into the top five and then quickly climbing to third. Dietrich’s advances created a three-car battle for second between himself, Norris, and Wagaman, with Wagaman eventually securing the spot and setting his sights on Rahmer.
Wagaman began to reel in the leader as Dietrich and Rahmer traded sliders behind him. By lap 25, Rahmer’s lead was under pressure, and two laps later Wagaman powered past down the backstretch, officially taking the lead at the line. Rahmer stayed glued to his bumper, even throwing a slider attempt in the closing laps, while Dietrich looked for an opportunity to steal second.
With lapped traffic in play, Wagaman held strong, crossing the line first to capture the $10,000 payday. Rahmer settled for second with Dietrich third. Dietz and Smith completed the top five.
Norris Racks Up Fifth 358 Sprint Victory of the Season at Lincoln and Claims Summer Series Championship
Dylan Norris capped off a stellar weekend by capturing his fifth 358 Sprint Car victory of the season at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday night, just 24 hours after visiting victory lane at Williams Grove.
The 20-lap feature got underway with Cody Fletcher and Logan Spahr on the front row. Fletcher jumped to the early lead out of turn 2 while Norris wasted no time moving into second. The action was halted almost immediately when Jansen Strine flipped in turn 1, bringing out the red flag.
On the restart, Fletcher led the field with Norris, Spahr, Jayden Wolf, and Ayden Hare in tow. Norris went to work on Fletcher, pulling alongside him down the backstretch and edging ahead at the line to officially take the lead. The pair separated themselves from the rest of the field as the racing behind them heated up.
Wolf muscled his way into third, with Hare following him through to take fourth and send Spahr back to fifth. Chase Gutshall also got around Spahr to crack the top five. At the front, Fletcher continued to keep Norris within striking distance, but lapped traffic loomed by lap 10.
Drama struck on lap 11 when Michael Smith slowed directly in front of the leaders after pulling a wheelie. Norris slipped by unscathed, but the yellow was displayed. The restart lineup showed Norris, Fletcher, Wolf, Hare, and Gutshall in the top five.
Wolf briefly nosed ahead of Fletcher on the restart, but Fletcher fought back to maintain the runner-up spot. Another caution flew on lap 14 when Seth Schnoke slowed on the frontstretch. Hare took a look under Wolf on the ensuing restart while Gutshall entered the mix for fourth.
Two more cautions slowed the pace, including one on lap 20 when Kinser Lightner came to a stop in turn 4. Each time, Fletcher tried the outside groove to get around Norris, but the leader was too strong. In the closing laps, Norris pulled away, leaving Fletcher to settle for second.
The victory marked Norris’ second in as many nights and his fifth of the 2025 season at Lincoln. Wolf completed the podium with Hare and Gutshall rounding out the top five. With his win Norris claimed the Mamma’s Pizza of Wellsville Summer Series Championship.
